1st high school football game

Justin is in 9th grade now so we decided to go to the opening football game.  It was so much fun! Our team(Ray-Pec) won 42-0! Our nephew scored the 1st touchdown! We had a blast!
Caitlin found a new friend at the game since cousin Lilly was all the way across the field on the Belton side!
Ray-Pec highschool vs Belton high school...we have a nephew on each team!
Notice how she yanked her capris up above her knees...she said she was hot..lol!

Lunch with Big Papa

We went to see my Grandpa today and were surprised and blessed when my Dad and Step Mom were there with my niece Lilly! Lilly and Caitlin are fast friends! Big Papa treated us to lunch at Lucille's Diner(the lunchroom at the retirement place where he lives) The special was Philly steak sandwiches...they are SO Yummy!!!
Dad and Patty...or Papa and Grandma...depends on who you ask!

My Grandpa...Big Papa to my kids and Papa Charlie to Lilly!
My handsome boy!

One of the nicest things about homeschooling is spending so much time with my kids and having the ability to take them places during school time:).

Our school adventures so far!

I thought I would share a few pictures of some of the things we have done so far!

Our Ant farm...It is amazingly interesting to watch!
painting
computer work...looks comfy doesn't he:)
more painting
our first try at a lapbook
cutting and pasting
JR's first lapbook
The ant farm the first day we put ants in it....I will admit that seeing all those squirmy ants in the little tube gave me the shivers...yuck!

Well those pictures didn't post in the way I clicked on them on my phone but it gives you an idea of our first few weeks of activities anyway!

Our homeschool room

We are blessed to have a finished basement and Jim has helped me create a school room down there.  To the left is the kids tv area and the bowflex.

You can see the kids workbox shelves with their workboxes on them.  When they are finished with a box they move it to the bottom shelf.  The bookcases hold our supplies for school and you can see my computer desk to the right.

My work area and the calendar wall.  The kids desks are adjustable and should last them a long time.  The green "bulletin board" to the right is actually the back of my teenagers desk.  His bedroom area is on the other side of our schoolroom.  We are happy with our little school room area.

Back to the blog!

I started this blog a long time ago and life got in the way...I went back to work for six months(yuck) and had more on my plate than I could handle.  I'm back! I hope that I can be more consistent about blogging now.  Here is some big news...We have decided to homeschool JR and Caitlin! I am so excited! We started on July 16 and are going strong.  I want to have a place to share our progress without overloading my facebook friends with things that they are not interested in.  I look forward to sharing and learning with you!
